Before You Start
How to Find Your iPhone IMEI
Before anything else you need the 15-digit IMEI. There are four places to look for it:

Dial *#06#
Open the Phone app, dial *#06#, and it appears on screen at once. No SIM needs to be in the handset.

Settings > General > About
Open Settings, then General, then About, and scroll until you reach the IMEI row.

Original packaging
If you still have the box, it is printed on the barcode sticker on the back.

SIM card tray
Some of the older iPhones have it etched into the metal SIM tray.
How an iPhone ends up locked
Find My is on out of the box, and switching it on is what arms Activation Lock. From there it usually comes down to one of these:
- —The seller never signed out before handing it over
- —It was inherited, and nobody knows the Apple ID
- —A company handset still under an ex-employee's account
- —Somebody wiped it without signing out first
- —The original Apple ID details are long gone

Does this cover the newest iPhones?
It does, the 16 series included. Each new model is added as Apple ships it.
Does it void the warranty?
No. Everything happens through Apple's servers. No hardware is opened, nothing is jailbroken, and no software on the phone is altered, so there is nothing for a warranty to object to.
How long will I be waiting?
A standard iPhone unlock is usually finished in 1 to 5 business days. Premium, for the more awkward statuses, tends to land in 1 to 3. An email tells you the moment it is done.
Is the phone completely normal afterwards?
Yes. Sign in with a new Apple ID, pull down an iCloud backup if you have one, and carry on. iMessage, FaceTime and everything iCloud behave exactly as they should.
What if it is sitting in Lost Mode?
Lost Mode is the harder case, and it is what the premium tier exists for. Put the IMEI into our main iCloud unlock page and it will show you what is possible.
