An Honor phone is not a Huawei phone
Honor was sold out of Huawei in November 2020 and has operated independently since. That split is not cosmetic: separate warranty records, separate service centres and separate parts supply. A Huawei lookup will not find an Honor handset, and an Honor service centre will not take a Huawei one.
It also changed what the phones can do. Devices designed after the split ship with Google Mobile Services, so newer Honor handsets have the Play Store and Google apps in the ordinary way, while the last Huawei-era models do not. If you are buying used and the listing is vague about the year, that is the detail to pin down before anything else.
Warranty terms then depend on where the handset was first sold. Twelve months is the common manufacturer term, but any phone sold inside the EU carries a two-year statutory minimum against the seller, and the UK’s own consumer legislation gives a longer window than that against the retailer. A record showing no active cover closes the free-repair door and nothing else.
